Preface
In the 20th century, mankind accomplished amazing feats of invention and engineering. The automobile, the airplane, the telephone, radio, television, satellites, nuclear energy, cell phones and the Internet, all were invented and made commercially available in just 100 short years. In that time, the average person went from living a life of hard labor and few amenities to one of comfort, free time, easy travel and luxury. These are accomplishments to be proud of. Technology has freed millions of people from lives of toil and allowed them to enjoy a life only the wealthiest individuals could live a century ago.
