These devices are real special. You will understand circulators perfectly if you can picture a rotary which automobiles sometimes find themselves trapped on in cities on the east coast of the U.S. and in Europe. A rotary is a circular roadway, in the middle of a highway, with several exits on the outer periphery. All the cars travel around the circle in the same direction, and if they are lucky, they are on the outside of the circle when it is time for them to exit. A block diagram of a circulator is shown in Figure 4-16.
