So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
11.1 Software Configuration Management
Software configuration management is the process of managing all the pieces and parts of artifacts produced as part of software development and support activities. In this chapter, we will occasionally refer to software artifacts as software items or software piece parts and will sometimes drop the word software that precedes the word artifact. Software configuration management is itself composed of a multitude of activities:
Understanding the policy, process activities, and the resulting artifacts that need to be managed
Determining and defining the framework that needs to be used to manage these artifacts
