Safety in the color darkroom must be incorporated into a photographer’s daily routine. Here Deena des Rioux presents a scenario of “a future view of the past when zero air quality is the norm. In a nostalgic setting, the human subjects are inaccessible: In their place are framed portraits that show ‘the family’ in protective gear where a breathing apparatus is an everyday accessory.”
