It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Writing The #! Line
Now that you have seen all the nitty gritty details, I will state two simple guidelines on how to write the #! line that should help you manage the other flags.
During development, either invoke expect scripts as "
expect script" or use the line "#!path/expect -f“.Production scripts should be invoked by name and use the line "
#!path/expect —“.
Replace "path" (above) with whatever is appropriate for your system as I described on page 211.
