1.4. Selecting a Line
Problem
You want to select a line segment or entire line.
Solution
Use the Selection tool.
Discussion
A line may be made up of one or more segments. Each of these segments may be straight or curved. In Flash, you can select individual straight line segments, contiguous curved line segments, or the entire line.
To select a single straight line segment, click the line segment.
To select contiguous curved line segments, click any curved line segment.
To select an entire line, double-click any line segment on that line.
You cannot select a single curved line segment if it is connected to any other curved line segments.
When the stroke is selected, it is marked with a dotted selection. You can change the selected strokes properties, such as its color, width, and style, in the Property inspector or the Colors section of the Tools panel.
You can delete a selected line (line segment or whole line) by pressing the Delete key. If the line is part of a shape—that is, it is closed and has a fill—the shape remains; only the stroke disappears.
