
Basics of Software Testing
Summary
In this chapter, we have presented some basic concepts and terminology
very likely to be encountered by any tester. The chapter begins with
a brief introduction to errors and the reason for testing. A chapter
in Volume II examines this topic in detail. Next we define input
domain, also known as input space, as an essential source of test cases
needed to test any program. The notions of correctness, reliability, and
operational profiles are dealt with in subsequent section.
Testing requires the generation and specification of tests. Section 1.5
