So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Beauty of Channels
Channels fundamentally change the nature of what we are able to do on the web.
Channels scale incredibly well. In one test on a powerful machine, the Phoenix team was able to establish two million simultaneous channel connections. These weren’t just static connections. The team was able to broadcast messages to all two million clients within a few seconds.
Let that sink in for a minute. Think about what your application would look like if every user of your system had her own persistent connection to the server.
