7.1 Difficulty vs. Depth
It’s time for the customary Deep Dive super long chapter where I spend a lot of time on a single topic (Figure 7.1). In each book I’ve written, I’ve spoken distantly about the difficulty and left that up to you reading to figure out how hard you want to make your game, but talking about soulslikes is different. The genre and From Software became famous due to coming out during a period when games were moving away from challenging gameplay as I talked about in Chapter 5.
