Chapter 3. Playing Well with Others
Hacks 28-34
Even though arcades have diminished in the United States, gaming can still be a social experience. Of course, if you play online often, you might consider it an antisocial experience, but there are ways to alleviate that. Part of improving your online experience is finding the right crowd. Another part is avoiding the wrong crowd. This chapter will help you do both.
The crown jewel of social gaming these days seems to be Massively Multiplayer Online Games. If you play for entertainment, not work, the requirements of knowledge and dedication can feel overwhelming. How can you fit in? What’s the point? How can you make the most of your limited time online to meet your goals?
Though there’s no substitute for experience, this chapter has a few ideas you may not have considered. For all terminology questions, please refer to Table 3-1 in [Hack #29] .
