Brainstorming is a group discussion technique used to generate new ideas or solutions related to a goal or a problem. A brainstorming session has a facilitator who welcomes all ideas and records them as they are offered. Participants quickly and spontaneously state their ideas in a manner that evokes kernels of corn being popped. The group avoids evaluating or critiquing the ideas during the brainstorming session.
