Get people to have a positive attitude and like those they work with so that they'll be better workers? Gee, wish I'd thought of that. What a novel concept! You mean I can boost my effectiveness as a manager just by pumping people up with hokum? And to think all this time I've labored under the delusion that my people actually wanted substance from me. Now, after all these years, I learn that they just want me to stroke their egos, to blow smoke up the proverbial derrière.
