2.2.3 Scope/Reachability
e scope ID identifies a specific area within the reachability scope for nonglobal
addresses (recall that the reachability scope is related to the address scope as shown
in Table 2.3). A node identifies each area of the same scope with a unique scope ID.
Figure 2.1 shows an example of how the scope ID indicates an interface or site
identifier, depending on the scope of the address. In this example, the node is con
