I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Azure Service Bus and Azure Storage Queues
You may wonder what the difference between Azure Service Bus and Azure Storage Queues is. In fact, they are both messaging solutions, which are reliable, durable, and can handle multiple messages at once. However, looking more closely, you can see they are quite different services, built using different concepts and for a different purpose:
- Azure Storage Queue solutions are forced to poll the queue to receive a message—with Azure Service Bus you can establish a long-polling receive operation via TCP.
- In Azure Storage Queue, you can store messages of up to 64 KB—Azure Service Bus changes that limit to 256 KB.
- Azure Service Bus queues can store less data than Azure Storage Queues—up to 80 GB.
