Decoupling events with Vert.x axle libraries

Typically, we want to separate our service entry points (adapters) from the business logic, which is part of the application. A common pattern is to keep the service in a distinct bean, which is injected into our service REST entry point. When approaching Reactive Programming, however, we can decouple even more of our components by bringing the Vert.x Event Bus into the picture.

In this kind of architecture, components communicate with each other by sending messages to virtual addresses. To manage the distribution of messages, the following components are available:
