When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Caching entity data
Caching entities can be easily configured in Hibernate ORM through its advanced caching mechanism. Three kinds of cache are available out of the box:
- The first-level cache is a transaction-level cache that's used to track the state of the entities during the current session. It's enabled by default.
- The second-level cache is used to cache entities across various Hibernate ORM sessions. This makes it a SessionFactory-level cache.
- The query cache is used to cache Hibernate ORM queries and their results.
The second-level cache and query cache are not enabled by default due to the large amount of memory they could potentially consume. To make an entity eligible to cache its data, you can annotate it with the @javax.persistence.Cacheable ...
