Web parts are flexible pieces of functionality that can be added to pages when they are needed. For example, if you want to show the contents of a list that’s located in some other part of the site, you don’t need to ask your users to click a link to see the data; instead, you can add a web part to your page that displays the data. Want to show your Microsoft Outlook calendar within SharePoint? You can use the My Calendar web part to do just that.
