Many moons had passed since my gender-bending fisherman experiment. During the intervening months I spent time in Eve Online, Gaia, EverQuest, and other virtual worlds. But Second Life attracted my inner anarchist. I decided to log back in, see if I could earn some money from the effort of spending time in there (which I knew would be considerable), watch how people were getting by, learn what I could about interactive forms of narrative, and investigate these avatar societies.
