Sometimes, we really don't need a dedicated machine for our process, so Google Cloud offers shared machines that you can use for it. In my opinion, the shared-core machines are not suited for production usage, but they could well serve a prototype or experimenting with different resources. Here are the two types of machines:

As you can see, there are only two options with different RAM and CPU power. I personally use these machines when I want to experiment with new software or new products of the Google Cloud Platform.
