Run Your Organization Like a Field Hospital

Pope Francis has a unique perspective on the Catholic Church. He likes to compare it to a mobile army surgical hospital (MASH) unit, or a field hospital—a temporary hospital set up close to a battle zone to provide emergency care for the wounded. He said in 2013, “The thing the church needs most today is the ability to heal wounds and to warm the hearts of the faithful: it needs nearness, proximity.
