So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Multi-currency and multi-account wallets (BIP-44)
BIP-44 is actually a particular application of BIP-43. BIP-44 has the title multi-account hierarchy for deterministic wallets. It supports the following features:
- Multiple accounts
- Multiple coins
- External chains per account
- Internal chains per account
- Millions of addresses per chain
In BIP-44, five levels in the BIP-32 path are defined like so. Notice that the fourth and fifth level are not hardened derivations like the previous three levels:
m / purpose' / coin_type' / account' / change / address_index
