Some Assumptions About the Reader

In this book, I assume that you have a working knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming. You should also have basic knowledge of the Visual C++ integrated development environment, but you don’t have to know ATL or MFC. You will write some HTML scripting, but you don’t really have to know HTML, because the source code will be provided in full. Other than these basic assumptions, you should be running Windows NT 4.0 and using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. In addition, it would be great if you have two or more computers on which to test and help you understand the distributed aspects of COM.
