It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

You might think that documentation is worthwhile only if you are working on your program with other people. If you are working alone, you already know all the things you might write down in your documentation, so what’s the point, right? Actually, there are a lot of benefits to writing good documentation, even if you are the only person working on the project.
