It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 12. Life Cycle Management of a vSphere Environment
Proper management and maintenance of a vSphere environment requires a comprehensive understanding of vSphere components and the order in which they are to be updated. This process should always begin with reading the vSphere release notes and the installation guide for the latest version. Generally this process will begin with upgrading vCenter Server, followed by vSphere Update Manager, ESXi, then vSphere Distributed Switches and lastly the virtual machines (VMware Tools and then virtual hardware).
