Assumptions About the Reader

This book assumes that you are familiar with .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio. Lab instructions earlier in the book will provide detailed steps the first time you perform an action such as adding a project reference. In subsequent labs, the step will be more generally stated, assuming that you are familiar with the process. Thus, if you are a beginner to these technologies, it is best if you read the book front to back.

Some of the labs and code samples will also use Windows Forms, ASP.NET, and Windows Service applications. You are not required to know these technologies in detail since the labs provide instructions, but it does help.
