Your Working Directory

The ZIP file provided with this book contains labs, sample code, and other supporting files such as database scripts, certificates, and media. I suggest that you unzip the file to a directory named c:\LearningWCF, or some equivalent on a different drive. This directory will be referred to throughout the book as <YourLearningWCFPath> as I reference directories and files.

After you unzip the file you will end up with the following subdirectories:

\Labs\Chapter1, \Labs\Chapter2, etc.	Each chapter has a subdirectory where in many cases initial solutions for labs have been provided. At the beginning of each lab, you will be instructed as to which solution should be opened to begin.
\Labs\Chapter1\CompletedLabs, \Labs\Chapter2\CompletedLabs, etc.	The completed version of each lab is located beneath the \CompletedLabs directory for each chapter. These samples may not run until you complete setup steps that are provided in the associated lab instructions.
\Samples	This folder contains samples referenced throughout the book. These are organized by topic heading rather than by chapter.
\SupportingFiles\Certificates	Contains the certificates to be installed to support labs and samples. Instructions for installing certificates can be found in Appendix A. Each lab and code sample will specify its certificate requirements.
