In these exercises, we are concerned with the numerical solution of linear systems of equations. The entries of the coefficient matrix A and the right-hand side b may often contain small errors due to limitations in the accuracy of the data. Even if there are no errors in either A or b, rounding errors will occur when their entries are translated into the finite-precision number system of the computer. Thus, we generally expect that the coefficient matrix and the right-hand side will involve small errors.
