It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Description
TCP/IP command. Add entries to the system log (via syslogd). A message can be given on the command line, or standard input is logged.
Options
- -f file
Read message from file.
- -i
Include the process ID of the logger process.
- -p pri
Enter message with the specified priority pri. Default is user.notice.
- -t tag
Mark every line in the log with the specified tag.
