It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Optimal (and slowest) compression method.
- -f
Recompress even if filename .gz already exists.
- -t
Test new .gz files before removing .Z files.
- -v
Verbose mode.
- -K
If the original .Z file is smaller than the .gz file, keep it.
- -P
Pipe data to conversion program. This saves disk space.
