So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Building the application
We will now install a new Android application using Android Studio. To do this, install the latest Android Studio and create a new project, demonstrated as follows:
The next screenshot depicts which Android API we are going to target. Selecting API 15 and above covers almost all existing Android devices, so it would be advisable to use that:
