Haptic Applications for Vehicles

9.1 Introduction

Haptic technology is based on the sense of touch. It provides a new com-

munication method that closely resembles the subtle, non-visual, and non-

auditory communication methods found among biological beings. The

mechanical interface device providing stimulus information such as tactile

sensation and kinesthetic force to a user is called a haptic device or haptic
