So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In this chapter, you have learned about or recapped the high-level design of large software projects, from traditional monolithic applications to microservices-based applications. You were also introduced to a brief history of microservices, the limitations of monolithic applications, and the benefits and flexibility that microservices offer. I hope this chapter helped you to understand the common problems faced in a production environment by monolithic applications and how microservices can resolve such problems.
