In this chapter, we'll implement microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Stream, Apache Kafka, and Apache Avro. So far, we've created microservices that interact based on synchronous communication using REST. In this chapter, we'll implement asynchronous inter-service communication using events. We'll make use of the existing booking microservice to implement the message producer, or, in other words, generate the event.
