SPX options
The CBOE offers a variety of options contracts to be traded, including options on stock indices such as the SPX. SPX Index options products come with different expiration dates. Standard or traditional SPX options expire on the third Friday of every month, and are settled at the start of the business. SPX Weekly (SPXW) options products may expire weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or monthly on the last trading day of the month. If the expiration date falls on an exchange holiday, the expiration date will be brought forward to the preceding business day.
