One of the major rules of good architectural design is that you get out of framework land as soon as possible. You want to be dealing with plain old JavaScript objects as often as possible. Any kind of "business logic" should be extracted out as soon as possible.

The same rule applies here. We want to get out of "React land" as often as we can. There are a few different reasons for that. First, testing components is harder than testing plain objects.
