I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Testing the whole product
Front-end development includes a lot of moving parts, including:
- Multiple browser environments requiring support
- CSS
- Distributed components, such as proxies and caches
- Authentication mechanisms
Manually testing is necessary not because of test-driven code, but because of all the other complexities that go along with it. We need to check that everything sits together nicely.
Alternatively, you can use end-to-end tests for the same coverage; however, these are costly to develop and maintain.
