So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
4章ライトニングノードソフトウェア
ここまでの章で見てきたように、ライトニングノードはライトニングネットワークに参加するコンピュータシステムです。ライトニングネットワークは製品や企業ではなく、相互運用性のベースラインを定義するオープン規格の集まりです。このため、さまざまな企業やコミュニティグループによってライトニングノードソフトウェアが開発されています。ライトニングソフトウェアの大半はオープンソースです。つまり、ソースコードは公開されており、開発プロセスでの共同作業、共有、コミュニティの参加を可能にするような方法でライセンスされています。同様に、本章で紹介するライトニングノードの実装はすべてオープンソースであり、共同で開発されています。
ビットコインの規格はソフトウェアのリファレンス実装（Bitcoin Core）によって定義されていますが、ライトニングの規格はBOLT（Basis of Lightning Technology）という一連の仕様書によって定義されています。BOLTはGitHubリポジトリ†1で確認できます。
ライトニングネットワークにはリファレンス実装はありませんが、BOLT準拠の相互運用可能な競合実装がさまざまなチームや組織によって開発されています。ライトニングネットワークのソフトウェアを開発するチームはBOLT規格の開発や改良にも貢献しています。
ライトニングノードソフトウェアとビットコインノードソフトウェアの間には大きな違いがもう1つあります —— ライトニングノードはBOLTのコンセンサスルールに一斉に準拠する必要はなく、BOLTのベースラインにとどまらない拡張機能を持つことができます。このため、さまざまなチームがさまざまな実験的機能を追求できるようになっています。それらの機能が成功し、広く導入されるようになれば、いずれBOLTの一部になるかもしれません。 ...
