This chapter highlights the modeling techniques used for the simulation of micro- and nano-scale cutting. Specifically, the text thoroughly describes modeling with the Finite Elements method for the preparation of microscale cutting models. Important parameters, including tool and workpiece geometry, meshing, and formulation are discussed.
