IIS 7.0 enables the central storage of site configuration settings. Instead of a metabase located on each individual system, configuration can be stored in a remote, central location, applying to all servers in the infrastructure. This option offers much better consistency in configuration settings; however, it also adds the risk that one poor configuration might apply to all servers, which could take the entire farm offline.
In this step, location and fault tolerance of configuration and content is explored. Use these tasks to plan this aspect of the IIS 7.0 infrastructure.
