CPU
IIS 7.0 controls CPU utilization primarily by monitoring worker processes and application pools. Use the application characterization information recorded in Step 2 as a baseline for determining the architecture and number of CPUs.
Additional CPUs can be added to the base form factor for the following reasons:
High CPU use. If under moderate load testing CPU use is trending abnormally high, add processors to the base form factor and retest to help increase the CPU capabilities of the system.
Need for additional CPU-intensive applications. If additional CPU workloads must be placed on the server, add processors to the server to address the increased workload requirements.
