Case Studies Used in This Book

This section provides a basis for the rest of the book by introducing the three main case studies that will be used.

Contoso

The first deployment example that is used in this book is Contoso, which is a basic centralized deployment. The company has several remote retail locations and sales offices. All of the employees access and use their e-mail, which is hosted at corporate headquarters in Seattle. These types of deployments are usually done where the sites are adequately connected to support the users at each site, and there is a small centralized IT department.
