Exploring DNS Security Issues

The Domain Name System (DNS) service is an integral part of a Microsoft domain. The primary purpose of DNS is to resolve host names to IP addresses and to identify servers running specific services.

DNS is covered in more depth in Microsoft Windows Networking Essentials (Wiley, 2011), which covers exam 98-366.

Three important DNS records you should be familiar with for the 98-367 exam are listed next:

A (Host) Records An A record includes information used to resolve a host name to an IP address. A DNS client queries the DNS server with a host name.
