The most widely used game consoles—Sony PlayStation2 or PlayStation3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360—can all connect to your home network through either a wired Ethernet port or a wireless link to support multiplayer games with one or more additional consoles on the same LAN or through the Internet (they could also connect to a business network, but your employer probably would not approve).
To connect through a wireless link, use the PlayStation's built-in Wi-Fi interface. To connect a Sony PlayStation to your network through an Ethernet cable, run an Ethernet cable from the game console either directly to an Ethernet hub or to a router.
