9 Designing a Network

Planning is an essential part of any network deployment, and the design of the network is a crucial element of the planning process. Depending on its size and location, the process of designing your network can be simple or extremely complex. This chapter examines some of the concepts involved in designing networks that range from small home networks to large enterprise internetworks.
