I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
About the Authors
Big Data encompasses a wide variety of technologies and all of the authors have specific responsibilities with regards to Oracle’s Big Data products. The team has extensive experience with Architecture Design, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Hadoop, Java, MapReduce, and Platform Design. Additional details on the authors’ expertise are provided in the individual bios that follow.
Tom Plunkett is the lead author of several books, including Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Handbook. In 2009, Tom led a team that won a Big Data research project for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In 2010, Tom co-taught a semester-length graduate course that covered MapReduce and other Big Data topics for Virginia Tech’s Computer Science Department. ...
