energy, and so it is very sensitive to the accuracy of the theory.
The fcc–fcc isostructural transition in HCY solids was studied also by Német and
Likos (1995) by means of MWDA+MFA. The found that with this approximation the
transition takes place for κ 25, with critical temperatures in close agreement with
the simulation data, whereas for lower values it is preempted by melting. However, the
predicted variation of the critical temperature with κ is the opposite of that observed
in simulations.
The MFMT plus quadratic approximation mentioned earlier in this section was
