So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Enabling Wake On LAN (WOL)
pfSense can send a Wake-on-LAN packet (also known as a magic packet) to a compatible device to "wake it up" out of suspended/sleep mode. This recipe describes how to use the Wake-on-LAN facility in pfSense.
How to do it...
- Browse to Services | Wake on LAN.
- Select the Interface which contains the device we'd like to wake up.
- Enter the device's MAC address.
- Click Send.
