Why It's Worth a Photograph
Located in the middle of the East River, two-mile long Roosevelt Island offers unique views of Manhattan. The island offers numerous opportunities to make panoramic images of the city and provides views of well-known buildings from a new angle. The iconic Roosevelt Island Tramway offers direct access from Manhattan as well as beautiful views from up to 250 feet over midtown and the East River on the north side of the Queensboro Bridge. You won't want to miss watching the city light up as twilight descends into night over Manhattan.
Where Can I Get the Best Shot?
The best locations to take photos of Manhattan from Roosevelt Island are along the Western Promenade, from Southpoint Park and from the tram.
