Sitting Poses
In this chapter, I’m going to expand on posing by introducing props in order to create drastically new images. Whether you’re posing a subject on a chair or sofa, or if you’re using a posing table, seated poses can be used in an assortment of image styles. For this section, not only will I discuss sitting as it applies to portraits, but I’ll also show how posing tables can be used to create gorgeous beauty photography images (Figure 6.1).
TIP Here’s a trick that I borrowed from a couple of fellow fashion and beauty photographers to elongate the subject’s neck. When seated, have your subject hold the back of the stool or chair and lean forward. This allows her neck to extend farther than it can naturally, and it simultaneously ...
