10. Patterns and Repetitions
ALTHOUGH CLOSE, patterns and repetitions are not exactly the same concept. A pattern requires a larger number of repetitions for it to be considered a pattern. A repetition can be something repeated just once or twice. Both have important applications in photography.
Patterns exist everywhere. On an average day, you are probably exposed to numerous patterns. You may not be especially aware of them, because they are just a part of life. But to a photographer, patterns are crucial to creating a sense of infiniteness.
